There is nothing more annoying then when your battery dies. Lucky, the Wii provides the player with 2 ways of being able to check their Wiimote battery lifes. The easier is through the Wii console menu system and the other is through the Wiimote itself. Be aware that the Wiimote's average alkaline battery life is about 35 hours. However, it really depends on the type of games being played and battery quality. Games which use the rumble feature and speaker tend to use up more battery life. It is recommended that if using rechargeable batteries to use Nickel Metal hydride batteries. There is also the option of having the
Nyko's Wii Charge Station
so you do not have to worry about having replacement batteries.
The battery level of the Wiimote can be check by going to the Home Menu screen. The Home Menu screen will display at the bottom all synchronized Wiimote with each battery level. Each Wiimote is identifed as P1 - battery level, P2 - battery level and so on.
- On your synchronized Wiimote, select the Home button. (The button with a house drawn on it.)
- On the Home Menu screen, select the Wii Remote Setting option located at the bottom of the screen.
- The battery levels of all of the synchronized Wiimotes are shown at the bottom. Four bars indicates that the battery is completely full, one bar indicates low battery.
There is another way to check your Wiimote battery level. This way requires you to remove the battery cover of your Wiimote. Once removed press the Red Sync button located to under the batteries to the right. The lights in the front of the Wiimote will begin to flash. The number of lights flashing indicates the Wiimote's battery level. If all four lights flash it indicates a full battery strength, if only one light is flashing this indicates the battery is at a low level.
