It's the end of April 2008 and many are still Wii-less and looking to buy a Wii. Perhaps you have seen that many retail stores still don't have Wii's in stock or are trying to sell them as a bundle with several games that you might not be interested in getting. The bottom line is that Nintendo Wiis are still selling out and hard to find. To top it off it seems that the demands for the Wii are mainly a U.S. problem. The U.S. gets 40% of Nintendo's Wii production every month of the 1.8 million that are made. The only good news in all of this is that Nintendo will be increasing their Wii production this summer to 2.4 million Wiis a month to help meet demands.
Nintendo also announced this Friday that the Wii game console will not be reduced in price. After all, with the large amount of demand still out for the game and the lack of supply why would they. The Wii continues to sell like hot cakes at it's current price of $250 USD.
Nintendo also released the ratios of the system to the games, in which the Wii currently has 6.07 games per console. It is no surprise how well some of games are selling especially those developed by Nintendo themselves. Some of the best games have been Nintendo's Mario series games and Zelda. Nintendo has 2 more big games currently plan to come out within these 2 months, one being Mario Kart Wii and the other Wii Fit. Both games are expected to be big sellers.
