In November 2006, Nintendo launched its game console named Wii. The Wii is the successor to Nintendo's GameCube, but it's not just another game console. The Nintendo Wii comes with the latest Bluetooth wireless technology in video gaming; it features its controllers, a Wii remote (aka Wiimote) and a Nunchuk, which permits the motion sensors to react to the player. The Wii also offers backward compatibility with Nintendo's GameCube, so that players can play their older games with the GameCube controllers on the Wii. In addition, the Wii comes with a Virtual Console which further permits user's to download old retro games onto their Wii from past game console systems, such has Nintendo 64, Super Nintendo, NES, Sega Genesis and TurboGFX 16. Nintendo also offers the Wii Channels which are accessible through the Wii console, channels provided are the Shopping Channel, Internet Channel, Forecast Channel, News Channel, Mii Channel, Photo Channel and more.
